Focus on aromatic plants
This 17th edition of the old fruits market will see the opening of a new space entirely dedicated to the theme of the year: aromatic plants.
In addition to traditional thyme or basil, you will have the opportunity to discover other such as gentian, wild thyme, marjoram, oregano, fennel, not to mention the genever, so popular on the slopes of the Alps of Haute Provence. Thus, you will approach them in all their forms: dried, in essential oils, extracts or incorporated in recipes.
In addition, you will learn everything about varieties. Both their cultivation and the history of aromatic plants, which in the past did not differ from perfume plants or medicinal plants.
Finally, you will be introduced to their culinary use, in which they are widely available.
And as usual, we can eat locally, especially with the traditional spelled soup prepared on site.
